The image of the star-shaped park determines the new residential quarter “am Südpark” in the district of Obersendling. The park interacts with the surrounding open space structure, establishes path connections to the neighborhood and thus becomes an important hub for everyday life in the district.
The park is spatially defined by the surrounding border and stands out from the surroundings as an easily legible public open space. The adjoining vegetation of the city forest served as inspiration and continues the structural tree bodies as a spatial backdrop. Pulpits along the middle of the park form meeting points and enable barrier-free access to the lower, open meadow area.
Green inner courtyards and communal roof terraces complement the diverse open space structure in the dense urban area. The necessary access for the fire brigade is reinterpreted and also serves as a painting for the view from the apartments.
