“Nature’s Embrace” is a transformative landscape project inspired by the beauty of the Fröttmaninger Heide, translating its natural elements—the towering trees, expansive meadows, and temporary bodies of water—into a uniquely designed courtyard space and roof garden. The building is naturally connected to the adjacent green connection, the “Green Alley,” through its extensive greenery. The design of the outdoor areas consistently continues the goals of the master plan.
The courtyard is accessed via the “Green Alley” on an open, green paved path. Benches and wooden decks are located at certain points for relaxation. The covered bicycle parking spaces are embedded in the building or housed in bicycle rooms. The courtyard is not underbuilt! Following the sponge city principle, the courtyard is designed to minimize sealing and allow rainwater to be collected on site. The roof areas are extensively greened, ranging from extensively landscaped areas with PV systems to a green roof terrace and an urban gardening roof. The result is a place where nature and modern life converge, creating thriving, flexible and inviting open spaces.
