The 1972 Olympic Park is considered a common work of art made up of architecture and landscape architecture. Like no other free space in Germany, it embodies the dawn of a democratic society. It has been a listed building since 1998 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The project area is located in the direct area of tension of this historic park, at the south-west end.
The new residential complex creates a spatial boundary between the Olympic Park and Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and Schwere-Reiter-Strasse. The famous neighbor creates the backdrop for a new setting. A flowing topography picks up on the gently curved paths and connects them from the Olympic Park via the new public green space into the residential courtyards. By taking up the design canon of the Olympiapark (e.g. Olympiamastix, typical lighting and seating elements), this is interpreted in a contemporary way and extended into the new residential area.
